Wondering where to take the kids on your trip? Even though gambling reigns throughout Atlantic City, there are plenty of family activities and attractions to explore. Here are a few top choices to consider first.
Atlantic City Aquarium - Ocean Life Center
Explore the aquatic wonders and intriguing creatures at the Atlantic City Aquarium. Exciting exhibits feature: mesmerizing jelly fish, Loggerhead turtles, seahorses, coral reef creations, a hands-on touch-the-sea-urchins section, fluttering tropical fish, mystifying octopuses, spooky moray eels and the mid-Atlantic Ocean tank teeming with nurse sharks, dogfish, flounders and other whimsical wonders.
That's not all kids. You can even make your very own sea creatures. All you need to do is put a piece of paper over the creature of your choice, snag a crayon, color and Wham - you've got the spiffiest ocean specimen in the entire world!
Lucy the Elephant
Since 1881, Lucy the Elephant has been a well-adored attraction in the Atlantic City area. This 65 foot pachyderm is known as the world's oldest zoomorphic structure. Nowadays, visitor's can explore the inner design of Lucy for a small fee. Climb atop Lucy's howdah - the "covered pavilion" on her back - and see what's it like to be atop such a gargantuan creature. Peer out into the glimmering Atlantic Ocean through Lucy's eyes. Dine inside the "I Love Lucy" cafe. Peruse the souvenir gift shop.
Atlantic City Mini-Golf
Situated in the midst of the Boardwalk, the Atlantic City Mini-Golf course offers hours of family fun. Visitors have the enjoyment of putting through freshly manicured greens, meandering past cascading waterfalls, launching off lavish landscapes and negotiating hairpin turns that test each and every skill level to the fullest extreme. This is mini-golf at its very best.
